Turkey Trot

Registration is now open for the 6th Annual Turkey Trot 5k — sign up by September 30 for the Early Bird Discount!

The Franklin Park Coalition’s now-famous Turkey Trot started in 2013. Last November, we had another record-breaking year, with more than 1,400 runners participating. With runners and walkers coming primarily from the neighborhoods that border the park, including Roxbury, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, and Mattapan, the Turkey Trot is the largest Thanksgiving Day race in the City of Boston. One family who “trotted” in 2017 told us — and they are not alone — that they now have a new Thanksgiving tradition.

  • All ages and paces welcome
  • Strollers and race-ready leashed dogs are welcome
  • Great prizes for fast finishers and costumes
  • Event is chip timed

We hope you’ll join the fun this year. It’s never too late to start training or dreaming up a costume (costumes are optional but fun!). The event benefits the Coalition’s year-round community programming and advocacy to improve Franklin Park for all.
