SUMMARY:Latin Guitar at the Clubhouse
DESCRIPTION:Andres Guerra\, Venezuelan composer\, arranger\, and not-so-classical guitarist\, blends the rich tradition of the classical guitar repertoire and technique with improvisation\, offering a wide variety of musical styles—such as Latin Jazz\, contemporary classical\, and pop. He has played in concert and collaborated with a wide variety of artists\, including Grammy-winning Aida Cuevas; Berta Rojas; and Paquito D’Rivera. He is currently pursuing a dual major in film scoring and performance at Berklee. Guerra is a recipient of a Berklee scholarship\, and a Gifted Tuition Scholarship from the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation. Recently\, he earned an achievement award from Berklee’s Guitar Department. \n\n\n\nAll concerts are weather-dependent and will be canceled in the event of severe weather. Franklin Park is an urban hotspot for migratory birds! We’ll roam around Scarboro Pond and Hill searching for warblers\, vireos\, woodpeckers\, and other birds. \nBring binoculars if you have them\, there will be some to borrow from Boston Nature Center. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. \nMeet at the Shattuck Picnic Grove. Bus #16 that runs through the park\, between Forest Hills (orange line) and JFK station (red line). \nLed by Justine Hanson and Nature Man Mike with support from Friends of Jamaica Pond. \nEmail Justine with any questions. Heavy rain cancels; but birds love a bit of drizzle.
